Just last night one during a problem solving conversation, one of our community leads said, "I had no idea how much work community is." She and her colleagues found themselves victims of their own success. They planned well, they seeded and cultivated the community and then... they figured it would take care of itself. Communities, like the people who fill them, are living, evolving (and sometimes devolving) organisms, which require time and attention, anticipation, rethinking, and tweaking in order survive and remain relevant to the users who fill them and the businesses that support them.
