Coming hot on the heels of the OC Business Forum, our next event is the Online Community Unconference on June 6 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View.
We are really excited about the Unconference. The CHM is a great space, and we have had a lot of interest in the event.
For those of you not familiar with the Unconference format, An unconference, according to the
Wikipedia entry, is a "conference where the content of the sessions is driven and created by the participants, generally day-by-day during the course of the event, rather than by a single organizer, or small group of organizers, in advance." The concept of an Unconference has been around for decades, with the best-known format articulated by Harrison Owen as "
Open Space Technology ".
We have confirmed
Kaliya Hamlin as the event facilitator. We chose Kaliya because of her extensive experience with Open Space Technology, and look forward to having her guidance during event planning and at the event.
We posted an event FAQ today that gives answers background questions and gives a great overview of what you can expect the day of the event.
