Online Community Highlights
A Walless Garden?
In
the past week MySpace announced it's new "Data Availability"
program, then Google announced it's "Friend Connect" and Facebook got
on-board with "Facebook Connect." They all sound great and use the
latest buzzword "open." But are they all they seem? Not yet. There
are limited application integrations and functionality at this time.
However, it's clear that we are on the road to an open social web.

Mobile Social Networks
Mobile
social has been a hot topic on our minds for months now. In fact, it's
hard to not read, hear or talk about all of the opportunities and
advancements the mobile social market has to offer. With on and off
deck players growing their traffic over the past few months and users
joining more mobile networks, we are only at the beginning of a new
era. Will mobile social networks bridge the gap of being at home on
your PC making online connections to actively seeking physical
connections using your mobile phone to locate people you'd like to talk
to in person? Some say yes. Perhaps mobile providers will create more
flat-rate all you can consume plans and get a piece of the ad revenue
pie? The bottom line is that the mobile market is growing and as users
get more comfortable with the applications, it will become mainstream.
